Overview
The Tree Tops Team help make a difference to children's lives by working with families, schools and health professionals.
The team can help children and adults who have difficulties and / or conditions, including:
- Sensory processing disorder (SPD)
- Independent life skills (dressing, feeding)
- Development co-ordination disorder (Dyspraxia)
- Visual perception difficulties
- Fine motor difficulties
- Autistic spectrum disorder
- Asperger's syndrome
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Down's syndrome
- Cerebral palsy
- Sensory attachment intervention
- Sleep difficulties
- Feeding difficulties (SOS approach to feeding, Dr Toomey)
- Fidgeting
- Challenging behaviours
Support available
The service works with mainstream and specialist schools for assessments and intervention programmes.
This includes:
- Motor skills
- Sensory diet programmes
- Strategies / advice in the classroom
Parent support group
The service runs a support group for parents of children with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) offering:
- advice
- networking
- meetings
- education
- strategies
They aim to improve the lives of children through education and global awareness of SPD.

Who can access the service
Anyone aged 0 to 70 years old, with:
- Sensory processing difficulites
- Dyspraxia / developmental coordination disorder
How to access the service
Referral from:
- Families
- NHS
- Schools
- Autistic units
- Children's homes
- Councils
- Adoption support fund
