Overview

TCES (The Complete Education Solution) provides therapeutic education to pupils aged 5 to 25 via a national online school. They support children who can't attend school and often fall through the education net. This can be for a variety of reasons including:

  • school anxiety
  • special educational needs
  • emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA)
  • needs not being met

Their approach supports pupils to find their talents and skills to give them the best opportunities for positive social, emotional, and academic outcomes.

Pupils on the programmes typically have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) but they also support those either at the start of the EHCP process or without an EHCP.

Support available

The service offers the core subjects of English, Maths and Science plus additional subjects.

They also support pupils to take GCSEs and A levels, including providing invigilators in the family home where needed.

An experienced and qualified therapy team offers speech and language, occupational therapy and psychodynamic therapies (e.g. Art and Drama Therapy) based on assessments of each child's need.

The pupil's educational programme will be regularly reviewed to make sure that it continues to meet the child or young person's needs.

The aim for each child or young person is to be able to re-engage with education and move back into an appropriate school setting.
