Overview

Northern Rights Social Enterprise supports people living in South Tyneside, who are disadvantaged in the job market.

A Personal Development Advisor will work with you to look at your:

  • work
  • education (including basic skills screening)
  • training
  • circumstances (including financial)
  • health
  • aspirations  

This will identify any barriers to progression and achievement and address: 

  • low skills
  • training and education
  • low aspirations  
  • achievement and self-belief 
  • low self-esteem
  • low motivation and lack of stamina
  • criminal convictions
  • drug and alcohol dependency  
  • problems related to length of unemployment 
  • lack of knowledge of the local labour market 
  • employer requirements
  • financial instability  
  • access to specialist internal and external interventions 

Support available

Northern Rights are a disability confident leader.  

They provide accessible support to all.

The service work with specialist organisations to provide equipment and resources, to make sure services are inclusive.    

They are an inclusive Discover IT partner of Leonard Cheshire and can access specialist IT equipment.


Who can access the service

The service is open to anyone over 16 and not in education, employment, or training (NEET).


How to access the service

Referrals to one-to-one support can be made by telephone. 

An Initial Contact Advisor will provide an overview of the service and arrange an appointment with a Personal Development Advisor. 

If more specialised provision is needed and identified at the first appointment, they will signpost to the most appropriate service.
