The Inclusion Service

Overview
The Inclusion Service is part of South Tyneside Council's support offer for schools and settings across the local area.
The service is delivered by highly skilled teachers and higher level teaching assistants that have a range of expertise and experience working with children and young people who have special educational needs.
Who can access the service
The Inclusion Service is available to all settings across early years, primary and secondary.
Aims of the service
The service aims to ensure all settings have the skills, training and knowledge they need to meet the needs of our children through:
- observations
- recommendations
- implementation
- review
The service will:
- provide advice and support to settings regarding individual children and young people
- provide advice and guidance regarding whole school approaches to inclusive practice
- deliver training to schools, settings and partners
How to access the service
Referrals to the service are made by the child or young person's school or setting.
If your child has been referred to the Inclusion Service, their school or setting will discuss this with you.
This privacy notice provides information on how we collect, store and process data about your child when a referral to the Inclusion Service is made.
