Good physical and mental health

You can get an annual health check if you have:

• a learning disability
• complex mental health needs
• autism

People with a learning disability often have poorer physical and mental health than other people, but this shouldn't always be the case.  

It is important to have your annual health check to prevent you from getting ill, and to identify any health conditions as early as possible.

This will help to make sure you get the right treatment quickly.

It also means you can speak to the doctor or nurse about any worries you might have about your health.
